No. The Free tier gives you the full local demo experience — the proxy engine, click-to-edit rule builder, JSON mutations, HTML transforms, and unlimited local rulesets. Pro adds AI-powered rule generation and cloud sync. Start free and upgrade when you need it.
What AI providers does Cap Artist support?
Free and Pro users can bring their own API key for OpenAI (GPT-4o), Anthropic (Claude), or Google Gemini. Pro users also get access to cloud LLM — no API key needed, credits are included.
Does Cap Artist work with any website?
Yes. Cap Artist works as a system-level proxy, so it intercepts traffic from any browser and any web app — your product, a competitor's tool, a partner integration, anything. It includes a TLS bypass list for cert-pinned services (Apple, Sentry, etc.) that can't be intercepted.
Is Cap Artist open source?
Yes. The proxy engine and desktop app are open source under the AGPL v3 license and available on GitHub. The cloud backend (sync, teams, billing) is the paid component.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel from your billing portal and your subscription ends at the next billing cycle. Your local rulesets are always yours — they live on your machine and don't disappear if you downgrade.
